About Us
Harbour Hospice is the only specialist, palliative care provider for families living in the Hibiscus Coast, North Shore and Warkworth / Wellsford communities. We provide compassionate, free care working primarily with patients, families and carers in their homes, and also within our three hospice sites. Our bespoke services include medical care, spiritual support, physiotherapy, social activities and more, with an emphasis on helping people live every moment in whatever way is important to them.
About the Role
This is a great opportunity to work as part of the Inpatient Team to help deliver quality palliative care. Your duties as a Health Care Assistant will include, assisting patients with personal cares, nutritional intake and general housekeeping.
Hours of Work
Hibiscus IPU HCA Duties:
- Morning Duty: 07:30 – 11:30 (4hrs)
- Afternoon Duty: 16:30 – 20:30 (4hrs)
North Shore IPU HCA Duties:
- Morning Duty: 06:45 – 15:15 (8hrs)
About You
As someone with recent Health Care Assistant experience, either in a New Zealand hospital or rest home setting, you will understand that it’s the little things that make all the difference to patients and their families. You will have strong communication skills and enjoy working with patients, families and staff from all walks of life.
You will also have:

- Attention to detail
- The ability to prioritise your workload
