Assistant Retail Manager - Te Hana & Wellsford

About us:

Harbour Hospice is the only specialist, palliative care provider for families living in the Hibiscus Coast, North Shore and Warkworth / Wellsford communities. We provide compassionate, free care working primarily with patients, families and carers in their homes, and also within our three hospice sites. Our network of 17 retail shops located from Te Hana to Devonport play a vital part in raising the funds required to provide this free service to our patients and their families.

About the role:

This is a brilliant opportunity to make a real difference in your local Community and for the patients and families who are cared for by your local Harbour Hospice. The Assistant Retail Manager is responsible for the overall running of the shop on specified days of work. This is a hands-on role that will work alongside the volunteers to ensure a fantastic customer experience for our donors and customers alike.  Duties will include customer service and cash handling, receiving and sorting donations, merchandising and working closely with our team of wonderful volunteers. 

As the summer months approach our Northern Hospice Shops are looking forward to a busy summer trading period from the local community and those bargain hunting holiday makers heading north for the holidays.

Hours of work:

The role is split over a two week roster:

Week 1 : Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday at Te Hana and Friday in Wellsford - 30hrs*
Week 2 : Tuesday, Thursday & Friday at Te Hana - 22.5hrs*

*Hours of work are 8.30am to 4.30pm including a 30 minute unpaid lunch break each day

What are we looking for in you?

  • Self-Motivator with a can do attitude
  • Ability to take direction as well as use your own initiative
  • Warm, engaging people person
  • Previous Customer Service experience
  • Retail sales experience is essential
