About the mahi
We have an awesome opportunity for a Community and Events Fundraiser to join our Fundraising team. You’ll drive growth of community fundraising in the Hibiscus Coast and Warkworth/Wellsford region and develop and manage a portfolio of individuals and community groups who fundraise for Harbour Hospice. You’ll initiate, build and steward relationships for ongoing partnerships. You’ll also lead events and campaigns and support community events to be as successful as possible.
This is a permanent, full-time position based at our Red Beach site, with travel required throughout the region. Our hybrid working model allows you some flexibility with working from home and the office.
About you
This will suit someone who brings experience in a similar fundraising or events role. Knowledge of and existing networks with the Hibiscus Coast and Warkworth/Wellsford communities will be of great advantage.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Be an outstanding communicator. You have the gift of the gab but most importantly, you really listen during your conversations, to fully understand people’s motivations
- Have excellent IT skills including the ability to use databases to manage supporter relations
- Demonstrate knowledge of fundraising and an understanding of the not-for-profit sector
- Be highly organised, approachable and have a collaborative working style
- Share our values of compassion, inclusive and professional
You will also need to be prepared to attend supporter events from time to time, that may fall outside standard working hours.
About us
Harbour Hospice is one of the largest hospices in Aotearoa and has been caring for tūroro (patients) and their family and whānau for almost 40 years. Every day we care for close to 400 people across the North Shore, Hibiscus Coast and Warkworth/Wellsford regions, supporting them at home, in one of our two inpatient units, or in community programmes offered at each of our three sites.
Our bespoke services given free of charge, include medical care, spiritual, psychological and social support, physio, occupational and complementary therapy, social activities and more.
Our Fundraising team are responsible for raising a third of our annual operating costs. They are dedicated, high-performing, and passionate about engaging the community and raising funds towards tūroro and whānau care.
