Harbour Hospice is the specialist, palliative care provider for families living in the Hibiscus Coast, North Shore and Warkworth / Wellsford communities. We provide compassionate, free care working primarily with patients, families and carers in their homes and within our three hospice sites. Our bespoke services include medical care, spiritual support, physiotherapy, social activities and more.
About the Role:
We are looking for a practical, reliable and self-motivated person to look after the general maintenance and repair of the buildings, grounds, facilities, equipment and vehicles at Hibiscus House along with occasional work at Tui House in Warkworth.
This role is a permanent, part time role for 30 hours a week, Monday to Friday
- Preventative and reactive maintenance for all buildings, facilities, equipment and vehicles, including fire and emergency system compliance
- Asset management
- Coordination of contractors, suppliers and volunteers
- Overseeing retail shop maintenance
- Loan equipment cleaning
Ideal applicants will have basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, building, and carpentry skills and flexibility to manage the occasional after-hours duties or calls in emergencies.
Good written and oral communication skills, efficient scheduling and time management skills and ability to use tools and equipment safely are also key requirements for this role. As some heavy-lifting is involved, a high standard of health and fitness is required.
