About the mahi
The role of Cook at Harbour Hospice is special. You get to cook meals from scratch to suit the appetites of patients receiving palliative and end-of-life care. You’ll be part of the household team who share a passion for serving home cooked, nutritious meals and baking. We provide patients three main meals a day plus morning and afternoon teas, and we’ll expect you to get stuck into everything from food prep, making sandwiches and doing the dishes, through to making teas and coffees.
This is a casual role based at Kārohirohi North Shore Hospice in Takapuna, where we have a brand new fully equipped and modern kitchen. We operate a 3-week rotating roster, and you’ll pick up shifts to cover planned or unplanned leave, so flexibility is a must. Ideally, you’ll also be able to travel to Hibiscus Hospice in Red Beach to provide leave cover there from time to time.
Please note this is a causal position and no hours are guaranteed. All applicants must have the legal right to work in Aotearoa New Zealand.

- Knowledge of food safety procedures
- Enthusiasm to learn and take direction
- A flexible and compassionate attitude
